In creating a shoe, the model-maker draws and plans the product
and he starts from conceiving the shoe itself. His experience, training and
professionalism help him in his work.
Once the project is on paper, the next step is practically making the model:
during this phase, all operations are carefully determined, in order for the
final product to meet the quality ands style requirements established by the
company as their final goal.
On manufacturing an upper, the first important step is the cutting of the
leather. This is an operation which requires a great cleverness of the operator:
he has to select skins and match pairs in order to achieve a perfect correspondance
of the grain and the colour of the upper.
